According to Gartner, a research firm, Indian mobile users will increase 90% by 2013 as a result of widening the wireless network to the rural areas. India is one of the countries with large number of mobile users. As per the survey by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, there were 403.66 million mobile users in the country and it is expected to reach 771 million by 2013. At present India is the second country, next only to China as far as number of mobile users is considered. China has more than 600 million wireless subscribers at present. The low cost cell phones and low call tariffs keeps the demand always high.Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications Ltd. are planning to widen their network by installing towers in almost all small villages to attract more customers. The revenues of the mobile companies in India will exceed $30 billion by 2013, thereby increasing the annual growth rate by 12.5%. The competition among the telecom rivals also adds to the growth. Gartner also added that the tariff rates for voice calls will fall as a result of new telecom operators joining the market.
